Resist/refuse dynamics
and the polarized child
New Hampshire Bar
Association¦ Th 11.16.2023 |
|
Decades
of science and case law
have taught us that many simultaneous
and
mutually compatible pressures must all
be considered
when a child becomes allied with one
parent
and rejects the other.
Calling
this "alienation" is a grave error
that creates bias, fuels conflict,
and harms the child.
This presentation introduces the idea of
resist/refuse dynamics,
criticizes the popular but deeply flawed
"five factor model,"
and recommends a rubric for evaluating
and litigating these most challenging
family law cases.
